Two ladies, Cecil Frances ('Fanny') Alexander and Frances Ridley Havergal, born in the 19th century, contribute to the 6th recording in the Hymn Maker series. Fanny's hymns, written mainly for children will stimulate rich memories for every listener. Frances Ridley Havergal's hymns clearly express her 'sense of belonging wholly to God' and will lead us to re-affirm our own trust in Him.

Carols have always been an essential part of Christian worship. We have all sat enthralled, listening to the choir of King's College, Cambridge and been inspired, sharing in a service of 9 lessions and arols in our local candle-lit church. For this 15th album in the series we have returned to Coventry Cathedral to share in worship with the St Michael's Singers under the direction of Paul Leddington Wright. The cross is at the very centre of our Christian faith and this Easter album seeks to lead us through the jubilation of Palm Sunday, the mystery of the Passion and the glorious celebration of the Resurrection.
