Diana made the latter part of the 20th Century her own. In the final two decades of that century she was, quite simply, the most famous person in the world.

In life she captivated a global audience. In death, she forced the world to stop, think and reflect. There are very few people in history that really make a difference to people’s lives. But Diana was one of those people. She touched people’s hearts; made people examine themselves and moved many people who had never even met her to tears when they heard the shocking news of her death.

In her 36 years of life Diana had not only become the self styled Queen of Peoples Hearts - but a humanitarian princess of this planet. She was the champion of the underdog and underprivileged. She did not need to – she could have taken the easy option, but that was not in her make-up.

Diana showed genuine compassion for those less fortunate than herself. She was brave, embracing - quite literally - for causes and became a bright beacon of hope for AIDS victims.

But it was not all hearts and minds. The princess possessed a wicked sense of humour coupled with an excess of energy to entertain and be the fools prankster.

Like everyone she had low times but being their for her highs was a joy. I was among those in her inner circle lucky enough to share them.

So much has changed since the fateful night of 31st August 1997. Her ex-husband, the much maligned Prince of Wales, has finally married Camilla Parker Bowles and made his royal duchess.

Diana’s beloved boys are now men, her legacy - proud in their determination for us to remember the princess for the good she achieved and rightly urging us all not to dwell on the bad or even the manner of her death.

Some of the versions of Diana's life written in the intervening decade have been based on bitterness, ignorance or both. It will also assist one of the charities of which she cared so deeply and proudly represented as President for 8 years, Barnardo’s.

By reading this commemorative magazine, written by Ken Wharfe MVO and Robert Jobson, you will be able to share and enjoy some of Diana’s greatest achievements and that tells the story of a truly remarkable and inspirational woman.
